HETEROGENEOUS CATALYST UEE-BASE-S FOR BIODIESEL
United Environment & Energy LLC (UEE) has developed a process that
enables the production of cost competitive biodiesel. The key to UEE
process is a reusable heterogeneous solid catalyst that solves the
problems associated with processes based on homogenous alkaline
catalysts.
Key Features of UEE Catalyst
- Insoluble in oil, methanol, biodiesel and glycerol - permits
separation by simple filtering
- Reusable - can be used in consecutive reaction cycles
- High stability at high temperatures - no leaching
- Inexpensive to produce
- Feasible for fixed-bed reactor
Key Features of UEE Biodiesel Production Process
- Ability to process both low FFA and high FFA oils
- High biodiesel production yield
- Suitable for continuous production processes
- Transesterification reaction time as short as < one minute
- Reaction can occur at room temperature and ambient pressure
- High glycerol quality
- Reduced waste disposal
- Easily incorporated into existing biodiesel production facilities
